Here Comes the Sun

It’s a no brainer that the sun would effect climate. Yet the so called scientists who believe in man caused “climate change” deny the sun has anything to do with it, which should seriously destroy their credentials. But you know how group think and ideology flies in the face of reality.

Dr. Vincent Courtillot who is a professor of geophysics at the University Paris-Diderot and Chair of paleomagnetism and geodynamics of the Institut Universitaire de France sets the record straight in this 30 minute presentation.

  1. During the Reagan administration, the funding requirements for scientific research was changed such that it could no longer be “blue sky” but had to be tied to some particular problem or show some “meaningful” advantage for the funding society in general.

On the surface, this is a laudable goal, but the problem is that it can be easily perverted into political gain for whomever holds the purse strings. This explains why you have 5000 papers on “The Effect of AGW on X” which also translates to the 15000 scientist authors of said papers being committed advocates of the horrors of AGW.

Going back to the old method would make a lot of progress in getting politics out of science.

    • Good intentions often have bad consequences. Human nature being what it is. When politicians determine what funding gets made for science, it becomes politicized. It’s almost a good idea to cut out government funding entirely and think up other mechanisms for science to get funding.
